Having recently (late 2009) purchase a D300 with which to shoot Weddings and Portraiture, my thoughts immediately turned to lenses.
I have the 18-70mm f3.5-4.5 'kit' lens as my main coverage lens (and what a fantastic lens it is for the price), but wanted to be able to get closer at times to really isolate the subject from the background.
But a tight budget meant that I had to compromise my choice of telephoto (for the time being), and look at Nikon's more 'consumer' line within the classic 70-200mm range. There are several choices within this range, but 'fate' has lead me to look at two lenses in particular. The first, the Nikkor 75-240mm f4.5-5.6 simply because it's a lens my wife owns for her D70 (so I had access to it), and the second - the Nikkor 70-210mm f4-5.6 because it was offered to me recently for a very good price, as part of an F60 film camera I purchased.
