Shooting Locations: Shots on goal are good to get, especially ones that score. While you can shoot from the ends, if you are behind the net in the goal, you are blocked from getting the photo. I prefer to shoot from the sideline, moving up and down the field as required.  Capturing the struggle of the faceoff is a must as the two players attempt to secure control of the ball.  Lacrosse, the men’s game (women’s Lacrosse and Field Hockey have more restrictive rules for contact), is a contact support with collisions occurring often.  It is not uncommon for players to end up on the ground. The stick is not only used to carry and shoot the ball, but as an implement to knock the ball loose from the opposing players’ stick.

Shutter Speed Range: 1/1000 or higher for daytime matches.  1/500 for night time although I prefer 1/800.

Tip(s):  Action moves up and down the field, with frequent changes in direction, so be prepared to move around, which is easily done with the large sidelines.
