Lowepro podcast review - Street&Field modular system
Keywords: street, field, modular, system, lowepro, bag, non_nikon, podcast
In episode #138 of the Image Doctors podcast, Rick and Jason review the revised Lowepro Street and Field (S&F) modular system, a major update to a system that's been around since 1998.
The S&F system is based on interchangeable components that enable a photographer to create a method for carrying their equipment in the field. It includes the option of a vest, harness, multiple types of belts, and a large number of cases. The cases available will hold lenses, grad filters, speedlights, camera bodies, and other miscellaneous components. Lowepro also offers a handy duffle bag/backpack that holds a modular system, with or without equipment inside it. There is also a small backpack available that will hold a netbook or 11" MacBook Air, a lightweight jacket or other miscellaneous items. Lowepro's components are well-suited to both still and video photography.
In this podcast, Rick and Jason discuss the pros and cons of the S&F system, how to best use a modular system like this, and its compatibility with the Think Tank belt system, which uses a similar attachment mechanism. They also discuss the virtues of the differing belt sizes, when to use a vest vs. a harness and many other topics. Listen to the podcast for details!
