A Potpourri of Kevin L Hoag Photography
It's about the color and the light, and the relaxation I've achieved in photography. I don't try to sell images. I don't enter contests. I am simply thankful to capture and process my photographs, working alone or with friends. In looking through my portfolio I was reminded that I have no specialty or favorite type of photography. A potpourri seemed the most appropriate description.
“To photograph: it is to put on the same line of sight the head, the eye and the heart.” Henri Cartier-Bresson

Swallow Nestlings and Watchful Parents
I have always been fascinated with Birds in Flight photography - well, fascinated with the work of others. But now my photographic opportunities are more limited, and I'm paying lots of attention to the neighborhood birds. I've had some success catching mockingbirds, scissor-tails, and shore birds in flight. Even a cardinal. But the swallows intentionally torment me. They fly so fast and so erratically, and of course they love to buzz by low when they see me with the camera. Today I had my first reasonable move toward success. It helped that I was photographing some nestlings, and the parents stayed close to keep their watchful eyes on me.
