Steps: Cut (very) hard rock Eastern maple block to 66mm length on a band saw. Core drill the block on the lathe using Forstner bits in a tailstock chuck. Recontour core in a reverse taper, narrowing 1.75mm from top to bottom, similar to Moennig specs. Fit to mouthpiece and upper joint of clarinet. Sand core out to 4,000 grit. Coat core with thin layer of epoxy to brighten sound. Contour final outer shape and sand to 4,000 grit on the lathe. Burn in the name. Polish on the lathe. Swing.
