I found a colony of Scissor-tailed Flycatchers while on a trip to another city in Texas. On a morning when I had free time, I took camera and patience to a spot under a tree and beneath one the Flycatchers' nest. It was a very windy day. I watched as individuals took turns flying into a vacant field. Then I saw this fellow strip some material from a tall weed and fly around and behind me. He flew a circuitous route toward the nest above me. Just as he got close, a gust of wind stopped his forward motion and I took this shot. D300, 55 - 200mm at 200mm, f/6.3, ISO 320, 1/1250.
