Tokina and Nikon 1. Editors Note =========================================================== Thanks for your interest in our non-profit community for Nikon users. With some 550 registered members, over 300,000 hits at the site this month alone and with lots of interaction in the discussion forums, in the contests and in the galleries, Nikonians has indeed become the #1 community for Nikon users on the web in only some three months time! We want to thank all of our members in accomplishing this feat in such a short period of time! Our Contest and Gallery Administrator, Tom Vine, has had *a lot* to do this month, getting all the images up for the July contest which has attracted a lot of interest. This is one of the few contests available on the web allowing participants to simply post their images online and to be in for an annual competition with over 10,000 USD worth of Nikon and Nikon related equipment. Recently we have had some sound "arguing" in one or two of the forums in the community and some members have asked us per email if this is ok. Yes, it's most definitely ok: We can only learn from each other if we raise our own opinions. As long as each member sticks to our Terms of Use, there is no need to change anything. One of the most important aspects with our community is that we are friendly, that is, we put a very strong focus on acceptance and tolerance. Once again, thank you all for making Nikonians such an interesting place to be at. Bo Stahlbrandt (bo@nikonians.com) Jose Ramon Palacios (jrpalacios@nikonians.com) 27-July-2000 2. Convert 'em and Win a Nikon Coolpix 950 =========================================================== Another small contest just started at Nikonians: If you convert a C*n*n user to become a Nikonian, that is you make sure that your converted user was a former C*n*n user and that the very same person has bought a Nikon camera and have sold/dumped that other gear, you may win a Nikon Coolpix 950!
