Today, the D2x will be presented to the public at the Photokina
exhibition, Cologne, Germany
(http://www.koelnmesse.de/wEnglisch/photokina/index.htm) and
there will be a lot of people at the Nikon stand in Hall 2.2
(C038-040/D033), trying to get a first glimpse of the camera. In
these very interesting times, we will send out short updates to
you on the Nikon D2x camera the weeks ahead. Several Nikonians
will meet at Photokina. Friday and Saturday seem to be the days
when most Nikonians are showing up.

The list price of the D2x
No official price from Nikon USA yet. The estimates are though
around 4500 US Dollars street price.
The official Nikon list price in Europe varies:
Nikon Switzerland: 7798 CHF
Nikon Germany: 4999 EUR (incl 16%VAT) or approx 4300 EUR w/o VAT
Nikon UK: 3499 BGP (without VAT)

D2 series and Noise
The D2h, D1's, D100 and D70 are not very "noisy". Now, with the
low noise sensor of the D2x, we expect very good values here even
at the highest 800 ISO. How many slide shooting SLR film bodies
the D2x will replace depends not only on its price, but also on
produced image quality, where noise plays an important part. Some
