Hi,

I just ordered a Nikon 500mm f/4 and must sell my best lens insofar to balance my gear budget: my Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 with TCs and filter.

I want to sell the following items together (global price at the end):

1- Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 APO EX DG HSM :
This lens is in excellent condition (one could almost say "like new"). Front lens and back lens have no scratch or spot, the exterior of the lens is superb except for two voluntary marks on the lens foot to indicate the position for balancing on the tripod head.

It is a fast lens which covers a very interesting focal range for nature and sport photography. It is the most recent model EX DG HSM for digital cameras. Bokeh is great.

It fits perfectly with the Sigma 1.4X TC DG EX offered hereafter. It also goes very well with the Sigma 2X TC DG EX.

Front and back caps are included as well as the sunshade, the soft sunshade protective sleeve, and the original rigid lens cse with its transportation strap (everything being in excellent condition).

I use this lens with a D200 and the AF with HSM works very well. Image quality is excellent stopped down 1 EV, and is very good when full open. I've used it on a DX camera but since it is a DG model, it works also with FX. Brand new price at Lozeau (Montreal, best prices for top lenses in Canada) is $3300.

2- Sigma 1.4X TC EX APO DG :
This TC seems to have been designed for this 120-300 f/2.8 lens as they go so well together. It is the most recent model and delivers 420mm f/4. Optical quality is excellent and IQ is barely affected when used with this lens. It is in excellent condition and comes with the original rigid case as well as front and back caps. Brand new sells for $300 at Lozeau in Montreal.

To see diverse examples of photographs taken with this lens + 1.4X TC (which I always use for bird photography), see the followings which are all taken with a monopod (N.B. obviously, a tripod helps for still better photographs):

3- Sigma 2X TC EX APO DG :
This TC works very well with the 120-300 f/2.8 lens. It is the most recent model. Optical quality is very good when stopped down to f/8, reaching 600mm. It is in excellent condition and comes with the original rigid case as well as front and back caps. Brand new value is $350 at Lozeau.

4- Filter 105mm B+W UV-Haze 010 F-Pro:
this provides additional protection to the lens and is neutral regarding colors. Made of resistant brass which minimizes the risks of jamming on the lens. Made of high quality Schott glass. Allows screw-in front cap, so there is no need to remove the filter to put the cap on the lens. Improves images when the atmostphere is hazy. Brand new value is about $135 based on B&H price.

I've use a lot this lens for bird photography and I've have been extremely careful about it. I bought it used in 2007 from a fellow american Nikonian who was also very carefull. He had to sell all his photographic gears for financial reasons (this lens was only one year old). I hesitated myself to sell this lens but my budget restrictions convinced me (in addition to the Nikon 500mm f/4 VRII, I have ordered a new Gitzo tripod, a Nikon 2X TC III and plan to upgrade my D200 in 2011 and add the 1.4X TC when a III model comes out). So, it becomes too much asking to keep this excellent lens. I've loved this lens with my D200 as it served me very well, but I need more reach for birds (and more flexibility than with my 600mm f/7 astro scope that I also use for bird photography).

Total price for a brand new lens would be about $4100 plus taxes. I'm asking 2800 $CND for the 4 items (shipping in extra). Those who live in Quebec City region can come to see it to my house or workplace. You can also reach me via personnal e-mail for a phone discussion or a live chat with Skype or Windows Live Messenger to see the gears.

Payment method to be discussed (Paypal or C.O.D. or else).

I've been a long-time active Nikonian and it is easy to find me on the web, so you can trust me since I can't hide . I have myself bought lenses from fellow Nikonians in Canada and USA.

I could also ship to the US or bring the gears with me in France in October.
