elec164 Nikonian since 15th Jan 2009Thu 06-Oct-16 07:48 PMHi Steve, I use DxO Optics Pro 11 and don't exactly see what you are seeing. Granted I'm using it on a Macbook, so it could be a difference in implementation between the Windows and Apple OS.
What I see when clicking on an NEF is the correction preview come up first, then after a bit the uncorrected preview comes up. After they both come up they then finish rendering and depending on the scene and exposure, the uncorrected preview does at times look darker. But if I go into the Customize pallet and uncheck DxO Smart Lighting, the two previews then look similar. So it seems for me at least, that it depends on how the Auto mode of DxO Smart Lighting is configured. If it doesn't feel the image needs much adjustment, then there isn't much difference between the two previews. On the other hand, if it determines it needs a bit of a heavier hand in the Smart Lighting adjustment, then there is significant difference between the two views.
Hope this helps.Pete

Ah thanks for that Pete. Must admit I do see a slight flicker of the uncorrected one and then a slight darken regardless of the Smart light settings. I'll go into it a bit deeper and see if any settings change it!.
Thanks again
Steve

Only my second post so be gentle .
I`m trialling a few image processing apps at the moment and wondering about a strange quirk I`ve noticed in Dxo optics pro 11 and if anyone else has noticed it?.
I launch Dxo and select two frames to show before and after images, I select the image which goes into both frames with the indicator showing its working on the right hand image (default DXO settings). Now what I`ve noticed is that just before the right hand `after` image has finished its processing the left hand `before` image flickers and goes ever so slightly darker giving the impression that the processed image has had more done to it than maybe it has??.I`m wondering if anyone else has noticed this as it does it for every image I try?.
My dslr is a Nikon D5500 and Dxo Optics pro 11 is running on a Windows 10 64 bit machine.
Many thanks
Steve
