JosephK Nikonian since 17th Apr 2006Thu 19-May-16 04:06 PMVery cool.
As a long time user of Paint Shop Pro (before Corel bought it), I would love to see someone write a detailed review of Aftershot.

Over the last couple of years I've been doing the rounds on software, Lightroom, capture 1, NX-D, Aftershot Pro 2, ACDsee.
I've now got Corel ASP 3 trial installed, and wondered why I ever stopped ASP2. I find it very natural to navigate and use but have raised some issues with this version 3.
There are still DNG issues, if the DNG came straight out of the camera you'll be fine, but if you made that mistake I did for 6 months, and convert to DNG when importing into Lightroom, they will not be supported in ASP, for now.
I would love it if they made the 'central', main image editor floatable. They have made the left and right tool bars float if you want, so you can move them to another monitor. But if they just made the image editing window float, you only need to move that one window into the 2nd monitor and leave everything else where it was (replacing the big black hole with thumbnails, or before/after comparison)
I love the speed of ASP, it's really impressive and I think On1 will struggle to compete with it. The only time I find ASP3 slows down is if you load an image and the first thing you do is apply the 'perfectly clear' options. Suddenly any slider movements are juttery and slow.
I also love the fact they have modulated the camera/lens support now. So no entire-software updates just to support new Nikon releases, they just download the latest module.
I have fed this all back to Corel, here's hoping they listen, learn and implement changes.

When I opened AfterShot Pro2 this afternoon I got a update notice about version 3 being available.
This is the link to learn more about the Pro 3 update.
Just thought someone may be interested.
