My D600 display is not reacting to any of the actuation from the back of the camera. Cannot view any function such as Menu, WB, Qual, info or any other function that turns on the back display.. Top display works fine Did the two button reset Removed batteries Recently returned from a shutter replacement Into the last week of vacation and camera display is dead...arrrgghhh,,, Is this another return to Nikon ???
Sorry to hear. I had something like this happen with a D90. The viewfinder display and top display still worked and it still recorded images but without the rear LCD feedback loop (histogram & blinkies) it was little different from a film camera - one took pix on faith in the settings. A trip to the repair station fixed it and fixed it has stayed (the camera still works fine 4 years after). Judging by the chatter, it seems to be a fairly low frequency occurrence, but that doesn't make the present circumstance any less a bummer for you.
Problem MAY be solved...to make a long story short, card full, camera in panic to find a place to store image , camera thru a fit and said ...I'm not doing anything until you replace my cards, and shut down..So I replaced one card, reset the camera and it is purring like a kitten.. Thanks to all

Hmmmmm.... that simple eh? You know I have a card that is full that I can use to try to replicate this problem. I will give it a try this weekend. It'll be interesting to find out the results.
Didn't it give you a card full message on the the top/main display?
I was in vacation mode and just firing away. I wouldn't try to replicate it but thanks for the offer. If it reoccurs in my D600, Nikon and I will have a discussion. I really enjoy the D600 and just want to work as advertised.
