I've been trying to search for a comparison of the Tamron vs Nikon 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 kit lenses but the search engine isn't even trying to conduct a search after I click on "Search"...like it's dead!

I have a D610. I am wondering if anyone has experience with one or both of these lenses and if so, what do you think of each? There is a $250 price differential, but that is not going to be so critical in this purchase. I have heard very good things about both lenses, but when conducting a google search, it appears that Nikon is getting all the raves.

Any help would be appreciated. I would like to buy one or the other this week.

Thanks, all.

PS I am a bit confused by the descriptors for each lens. What does IF-ED mean and what does VC-USD mean?
