Very Strange!Setting up and learning my D600. Thought it would be easier to read on my monitor with the camera in front of me, rather than struggling with that little book that doesn't stay open. The Nikon on line thing is WRONG in many cases. The dials and layout on the camer I have is totally different.Doesn't make sense to me. I wonder if the on line guide refers to European models which are different?

What exactly do you see as wrong? I haven't watched the whole Nikon D600 Digitutor, but the parts I have looked at don't seem to have a problem. There is only one model of D600, it's the same one sold worldwide.

Not talking about Digitutor.I am referring to the downloaded user guide from Nikon, Europe downloaded last week. Over 400 pages. The release mode dial is completely different than the model I have.Their dial looked like my previus D300. Their dial: QUAL, BKT, ISO, WB.It appears that the newly released US download manual shows my model. So evidently a difference in cameras.

Thisis odd! Are you sure the original guide you downloaded was for the D600?The pdf copy of the D600 manual I downloaded from Nikon Europe last week is correct in every respect. Like I said, there is only one "type" of D600 - it's the same everywhere.

Odd indeed. The version that I downloaded appears to be identical to the paper version that came with the camera

Yes, quite odd!It was the D600, and a definite difference in camera release dial shown.Went back to Nikon Europe, and he version has been changed. I had downloaded that manual before the D600 was released in the US.Maybe that publication showed an earlier model that has been modified.Anyway, it all seems to come together now.

I'd quite like to see a copy of the odd one. Any chance you could post it?

Why would anyone with a D600 want a D7000 or D800 guide?Although I admit that coming from both, the D600 is (retaliative to other new cameras) easy to use.Perhaps an European official felt pressured to get something up early before the correct user manual was availablethen switched when it was?
