<RANT START>

It almost makes me want to leave Nikonians because I can't stand it anymore. Here we have one of the finest entry FX cameras on the market, and we can't have a simple discussion about it without someone complaining there is a spec of dust on their sensor. There may have been an oil issue early on, but Nikon is fixing any camera with an issue (even some without an issue). Now, it's hysteria over every little spec of dust at f/22. Get over it!! EVERY digital camera will have dust on the sensor! It is unavoidable. If you want to play in digital land, learn how to clean your sensor.

I LOVE my D600 -- break it out every day. If I notice a dust spec (rarely), I blow it off. If that doesn't work, I progress up the dry clean chain (again RARELY). Only once after being out on a really windy/dusty day did I have to resort to a wet clean. 15k shutter clicks and counting. This is same thing I did on my D7000 and my D90 before that. Even when I had my N90, I would deal with dust getting on the film.

Please, if you see a spec of dust on your sensor, take care of it (or not). We don't need to hear about it. We would like to discuss ways to improve our photography using an amazing camera.
