Gentlemen I need your assistance again.
I am going on a trip, noted in another thread. I just received my D610 and 16-35 lens a few days ago. Just had time today to play with it today. Now I’m sure you heard this before but, the D610 and 16-35 does not seem as sharp as my old dear D300 and 16-85 lens. I wrote this a few post ago but here it goes. When I put my 16-85 on my D300 several years ago there was a WOW factor, sharp, sharp, sharp!--this is what I want on my new D610/16-35 setup.
I do not have this WOW factor on the D610 and 16-35 setup. So I KNOW it’s not the camera/lens setup but what am I doing wrong and what can I do to correct this to get the WOW factor. 
Is there something in the D610 setup I should look at?
Customs settings I set so far--+8 on sharpness, focus priority, center spot focusing. Anything else, maybe lens fine tuning? Is this necessary?
Today was cloudy in NY so I know images won't be as sharp as a nice sunny day but still?

My goal--take many landscape shots with everything crystal clear f8-f16?.

Thanks!!
