Nikon Rumors puts the D600 at $2700 in Japan and it's speculated at $2100 street in the USA. This seems to best the price that I saw earlier for an entry level FX camera, but still $900 less than the D800. I can see a lot of spreadsheet analysis going on for the first time FX user, weighing out the feature for value equation. I think this leaves a lot of room for a possible DX entry. FX is still not going to be an easy entry point, especially when considering the lens cost differentials.

The uplift on DSLR prices is going to open up a nice gap for possible mirrorless considerations. I don't think the D600 pricing made any of my decisions any easier .
