I own my D600 since Sept 20,2012 at last check had 39,468 shutter clicks. I take pictures at a race track weekly. This past weekend I changed lenses and lost autofocus. No AF-C, AF-S, etc. push the button and nothing happens when turning main command or sub dials. Have 39 "+" in the LCD and a focus point that I can move around. Camera will fire even when out of focus. Figures it happened 10 days after the warranty ran out. $225.00 estimate for repair at Nikon service center
I'm sorry to hear about that sort of shabby treatment. I had a Chevy Tahoe A/C compressor go out past the warranty by 10,000 miles, and Chevrolet fixed it free (10 years ago.) Maybe business standards are changing?
Got my D600 back Friday. They had to repair the lens signal pins. They cleaned the CCD, adjusted auto focus system, general check and clean. Works fine now. Just in time I have a wedding to shoot next weekend.
