A little rain landing on the back is nothing. I shot in this for about 20 minutes with no cover of any kind and the camera was none the worse for wear:
I do advise a proper cover in heavy rain, but a sprinkle isn't going to affect anything.

>A little rain landing on the back is nothing. I shot in this >for about 20 minutes with no cover of any kind and the camera >was none the worse for wear: > Agree with your statement. I would worry about the lens as well.
Keep in mind that if a drop of water gets past the weather seals and damages the camera (even the D4 and Canon 1Dx) No manufacturer will cover the repair under warranty. While an occasional drop of water on the body or the lens shouldn't be a problem, adding a rain cover to your kit is cheap insurance. They are available in a wide range of price points and quality. I have used Think Tank Photo Hydrophobia and Aqua Tech Sports Covers in very heavy rain without issues.
