I have only had a few days with my D600 but so far the AF system is pretty good, not sure it is as fast as my D700 but it is accurate. Now the high ISo performance on the D600 seems to be better than my D700 and that surprised me. Nice shot and looks like a fun evening.

I'm impressed with what I have gotten out of the D600 with it's AF system. There had been an earlier thread about a person saying his camera would not focus well under low light - that has not been my experience..
During my Chicago trip last weekend, I have found that it focuses well under ridiculous low light. I've had great shots using the 3D tracking on wildlife shots as well. It's all so far beyond my old D200, which I really liked, that I am glad I bought this camera.
On the high ISO, the D600 got a better rating by DXOMark than the D700 in every measure, especially hight ISO and DR. I used to think it was not possible to go up in image quality AND increase megapixels, but clearly, that is not the case. I find I can shoot one shot underexposed to hold highlights in high contrast scenes like a sunset, and recover the shadows easily and noise free in Lightroom to make a balanced image. No more HDR for me. I have gone back to using a GND now, it's simpler and faster.
