Can I use the aperture ring on D lenses in LV and DMovie?
As I understand it, Nikon crippled the ability to change apertures in LV with AF-S lenses. I like to do macro photography with LV and I'm accustomed to changing the aperture via the sub-command dial. Can I set the D600 to use the aperture ring of my AF-D 60 and 105 f/2.8 micro lenses and change apetures like in the days of film? Would I be able to change the aperture in DMovie? From what I've read I need to use a non cpu lens to change the aperture in LV. Is this correct? I hope not since I've got a bunch of D lenses. Lastly, why did Nikon cripple the ability to change apertures?

I've used my AF-D 50 mm in live view using the aperture ring. Just go to Custom Setting Menu f5 and scroll down to Aperture Setting, and select Aperture Ring and hit OK. It works fine. By the way, you can do it on your D700 as well.
