You may be rewarded with patience. I expect the next big drop to be in body only sets. They may be waiting for the next big trade show in about a week or the one in early Spring. The next 'top of the line" DX camera should be announced soon.
>Yes it seems everybody raised the price back up. >I wonder if they will sell as well? Hard to pay the higher >price since the drastic cut earlier. > >Thanks > >Stash Maybe they cleaned out the stick of bad ones. And we can put the dust issue behind us.
The way this was structured - as a rebate - and the Nikon pricing policy - effectively prevent dealers from selling at the lower price even if they wanted.
A dealer friend told me this was going to end and it would return to normal price. That's happened in the past with the D7000 and lenses. You might see a deal again, but this deal probably will not be back.
The deals on the V1 Kit are gone, too. The best now is $349 at B&H and $399 at Amazon.

I see where the V1 with the 10-30 and 30-110 lenses is now $699. I'm sure glad I got it at $399. That was the deal of the year. The V1 is an incredibly nice camera.
I'm glad I got mine when I did, though I didn't get it at Costco. I had planned to wait until the new year to get my D600 and was a little antsy after seeing all the comments on the Internet about dust and oil in the camera. When I saw the kit with two lenses at Costco, I knew it was a good deal that probably wouldn't last. I checked Competitive Cameras in Dallas (bought from them before) to see what they had, because I wanted to have a reliable place to take the camera if I had any problems. They had advertised the Nikon kit with one lens for $1999.95, but when I mentioned the Costco kit, they offered me the same items for the same price as Costco. I believe the kit prices from Nikon were to end January 5, but you might still find a local dealer willing to match the price.
