Few quick questions. Does LR 4.2/ 4.3 exist and if it does can one buy the update without buying LR 4? Secondly how is the experience with the these updated versions? Any problems with the raw processing? I currently use PS elements 7 which does not support the D600 and am curious what the early experience is. AV

4.2 is out in final form and 4.3 (which contains the full set of D600 color profiles) is available as a release candidate from labs.adobe.com. Not too surprisingly, you have to buy LR4 in order to update to 4.2 or 4.3.

In my experience, LR 4.3 works very well with D600 files.
Nikon D600 now is fully supported in Adobe Lightroom 4.3 and Camera Raw 7.3 which are now available for download in their final form. In addition to the Beta camera profile left over from LR version 4.2, (which remains in the list), the Adobe Standard, Camera Landscape, Camera Neutral, Camera Portrait, Camera Standard and Camera Vivid are now in the calibration menu.
Be aware that the Camera Raw download is quick and painless, but the Lightroom 4.3 download is massive, taking about 4 hours and 45 minutes over DSL. Installation adds about another 15 minutes, so set aside some serious time for this. It completed without any problems on my 64-bit Windows 7 computer.
And I checked it for Tethered shooting. NO, the camera is not detected (although it finds my D7000 just fine)!
My download took all of 8 minutes. Installation about 2.
Glad I don't have DSL if that's the user experience.

PerroneFord, Are you sure you didn't just download and install the ReadMe file?
I did the download directly through Lightroom 4.2, under the Help menu, Check for Updates option. You get both the 32-bit executable file (387MB), and the 64-bit executable (394MB), plus a 1MB ReadMe and a little installer file. I just checked the Adobe site and they list the download as 771.5 Megabytes. Adobe download estimates are 35 1/2 hours for a 56K modem, 4 3/4 hours for a DSL hookup, and 1 1/4 hours for a T-1.
I don't know what you installed, but it wasn't the Lightroom 4.3 update!

Perhaps you guys already had the Release Candidate LR4 loaded? Maybe there was a need for you to only load part of it? I just don't know. Why does Adobe post the download duration over a T-1 connection of over ONE HOUR? Five hours was my experience, just as the Adobe site estimated for DSL. Maybe Adobe should check THEIR DSL connection? You are correct. My DSL download speed checks in at a whopping 0.83 mb/Sec! Time to apologize to you, and others who saw my post. Very sorry. I need to talk to COVAD now.
