Hi All, wondering if anyone has suggestions on where and what to purchase in order to tether a D600 to a MacBook Pro laptop. The MBP has a Gigabit Ethernet port, FireWire 800 port, USB 2.0 port and a Thunderbolt port. the D600 has a USB 2.0, HDMI out, and whatever that port is that fits the GPS unit. I think USB has to stay under 15', but was wondering if other types offer longer lengths and faster speeds. Going to tether to LR4 if that makes a difference. Thanks

Yes thanks George. My D600 came with the WU-1b adapter. It does allow a smart phone or tablet to view (similar to live view) remotely, trigger the camera, and then upload the picture to the device. Why I was looking for a tether was to be able to control the camera settings remotely too. The Nikon adapter does not do that.
To tether my camera to my laptop I use the usb cable that came with the camera and attach a 15' usb extension cable. Software wise I use tetherpro by oxford eye. That software is windows only so far. Lightroom has tethering capabilities or Nikons camera control(to expensive for my taste) or I found this with a google search http://www.sofortbildapp.com/.
Thanks. I took a look at that Sofortbild, it is for a Mac. I think it is similar to Lightroom, which I have and would like to use. Where did you get your USB cable from? The OEM cable isn't going to cut it, way too short. Thanks
I have had mine awhile I think I bought it at Microcenter for around $8.00 I think, there is a store pretty close to me. You should be able to find them just about anywhere I would try Bestbuy, radio shack, CompUSA, Tigerdirect, Wal-Mart may have some also. They are pretty common and shouldn't be too hard to find.
I went to Microcenter, they have the QVS USB to micro USB for just under $30. I then went online and found the same cable, shipped to my door for under $10. Nextwarehouse.com QVS 15FT USB 2.0 REPLACEMENT CABLE PS3 MP3 PDA CC2215M-15 $9.07. If you need one, that is CHEAP. Thanks everyone!
