I have heard a lot of unfamiliar terms tossed around in various forums dealing with astronomy and astrophotography. Is there a good website that explains what they mean in beginner's terms?
I'll ask a couple right here. What is Afocal and prime focus?

The way I learned afocal photography was when the camera was set to infinity and was mounted to the eyepiece of the telescope, the eyepiece and telescope were manipulated to achieve focus on the celestial body; the camera took the place of the observer's eye. (Camera has its own lens set to infinity).
It would be similar to mounted a small digicam to field/spotting scope (aka digiscoping).
Prime focus was mounting the camera to the telescope using T-rings and adaptors. Essentially, the telescope becomes the lens for the camera.
