I have been planning to shoot the transit of venus from a nice spot on a pond...but I have been reading about using special filters to not destroy the sensor in the camera.
Is this not just like taking a sunset photo? It will be between 5 and 6 in the evening or so and, like many sunset shots we see , will show the red sun at the end of the day.
With the D800, shooting with Live mode, and auto focus, and sunglasses, what is the danger to eyes or sensor?
