Ordered May 5th from AAFES, and it shows shipped. Note the date. They had a special sale for Cinco de Mayo that resulted in $200 off so $2799 shipped, no sales tax. I am very happy. Now I have to cancel my D800E from Adorama. And a D700 will be up for sale here very soon.
I ordered 16 April and then my order was cancelled because shipping was to a PO Box. I sent a testy email. Ordered 28 April with a physical address. May 5 sale comes along so I order and then cancel the 28 April order. Who knows where I was at that point. Shipping from Louisville, KY, so I have no idea what that facility is. All I know is I have UPS tracking number.
Thanks, I will check for an invoice. I bought the AAFES 4-year warranty for $99 that says if anything goes wrong they fix it or replace it. I do have a copy of my order showing shipped and the UPS tracking number. I am pretty sure AAFES will make sure the warranty is good as they are supposedly a Nikon USA distributor. Bought my first SLR from a military exchange in 1966, the Canadian exchange at Baden-Baden, Germany. Lot of photo stuff has come and gone from exchanges all over the world since then, including a camera outfit bought in downtown Tokyo in 1969.
I also ordered from AFEES on 5 May and was confused with the showing shipped, then mysteriously yesterday it showed out for delivery with no other tracking information. Hopefully yours is on its way. Mine showed shipped on the 16th and arrived yesterday 22 May. I'm in Denver. Good luck.
It arrived a hour ago. The packing list shows it came directly from Nikon. The battery is not subject to recall. Now I have to see if I can get a D800E the same way. If so, this one will go to a fellow Nikonian at a good, non-gouging price.
