I was shooting some macro today with a D800E and SB800 and got some very strange artifacts on an out of focus shot. The shot is going into the Recyle bin but I am curious if anyone could tell me what might cause these - I had a Sigma 105 macro with a Lentar projection lens attached to it and the flash. Was it the camera? The lenses? Or just the fact that it is so out of focus? Compare the two shots below - the in focus one looks fine.
Don;t believe I have seen any moire or weird color issues on the D800E as of yet but wonder what is going on in this shot. Thanks for any insights.
