Took the D800E to a basketball game this past week. These are taken from inside a courtside loge so the distance to the hoop wasn’t too bad but certainly not like being on the sidelines. Since I was testing to see how well the images from the body crop, I decided to just stick a 50mm/1.4 lens on it. I switched to manual focus and focused on the hoop using max magnification in live view. Set to manual exposure, ISO 1600, F/4, 1/800th sec, JPG Large-Fine capture.
I have posted scenes with three JPGs for each. The first being what the full field of view was – straight out of the camera. The second being a crop of the action at the basket with no alterations. The third being the same cropped shot but with an unsharp mask applied.
You have to be sure to have the full shot up when comparing against the crop shot so you can see just how cropped in these were. I would suggest right-click/saving these to your computer for review versus looking at them in your browser. If you do look at them in your browser make sure you wait for the file to fully render - in Chrome I know it takes a few passes before the full res shot is loaded.
How do I get a post to not make an http jpg link automatically try to display it as a jpg in the post? I just want to be able to put a link up and have it stay as a link so it doesn't overwhelm the post.
The popup html reference says to use the "HREF link with text display" so I enter this:
and it ends up looking like this in the post:
Is this an incompatibility with the Google Chrome browser?

This was interesting ... !!!
EDITED TO ADD that maybe this is a Forum bug?? Because my own re-constructed example links below are appearing differently in the Forum's "compose message" Preview page compared to when my typed-text is "Posted" as my final version!!
When my text is "Posted", then the entire URL portion of my second re-constructed "wrong" link is missing. The URL part doesn't appear in the Posted version!
I am now doubly-bewildered, and I don't know how to continue this failed attempt at adding some clarification without adding more confusion instead!! Very sorry!
I've had I tried having a go at repeating and re-typing your links, and then trying the "Preview Message" button here to see how they looked, and I discovered that if I deliberately include a space between the link:www. part and the beginning of the word "EverPhoto" in the text that I'm typing here, then the link shows up properly as just a link, like this ...
>But when I click on your version with the space I get this: (snip ...) >Luis Gonzalez >Everlasting Photography, Inc.
Yes, that's a logical error - given that space ... but frankly, I'm now creeping very slowly into the background here ... blushing a bit and hoping nobody will notice me going ... 'cos I fear I've hindered rather than helped in your plight ... Drat! Where's my coat ...
