The Camera shop that I stop at in Salt Lake City on the way back from Bonneville send me an email letting me know that they are giving away a Nikon D800, thats 36mp of awesomeness! The contest is facebook based so I will post a link. The place is called Pictureline and its a camera store I wish we had around here in Montana.
Wow, well just trying to share an opportunity with you, but your welcome to be as paranoid as you wish. The reason I haven't posted is because I come here to listen and learn from the more experienced photographers and not to interject any of my limited knowledge. I was a gold member for two years and now a silver member for another two, I wouldnt think myself a spammer.

Wow! You know we Russians have a proverb: "word is silver, silence is gold" I do not contribute a lot of postings myself, but - four years without opening a mouth - I suspect you are the champion! It reminds me an old joke: in a family there was a teenage boy who never spoke. His parents, as well as all other people, thought he cannot. But once, he suddenly complains: "the soup is not salted". Poor happy mother falls on her bottom - and asks: "and why did you never speak before, my dear?" -- "There was no reason - everything was perfect".
Why are you apologizing? You told us about an opportunity to perhaps win a D800, a long shot I'd think, but a chance. It's up to each member to evaluate the opportunity.
The company is a legitimate organization. A few years ago while in Salt Lake for a shoot my MC-36 died. I went to their Salt Lake store and picked up a new one.
Many people have qualms about using Facebook. I've had concerns about privacy issues there myself, but I've learned how to control privacy there. Not every company on Facebook is out there to bamboozle people.
I look forward to your next post. I just hope I don't have to wait four years for it. (LOL)
Thanks for sharing. Please don't wait so long to post again. What happened here with this thread is not the norm.
I too use this website to learn from better, more experienced photographers. I listen a lot but I also ask a lot of dumb questions and present ideas I'm not 100% sure about for comment. These guys take all my silly questions and thoughts in stride and always come back with something new for me to consider.
