D810: Need some very basic help with controls
Hi guys. I was wondering how to change from "P" mode to "A" mode on the D810. Have been reading the manual but so far no joy.

Thank you muchly...
Baby steps. Lots to learn
Is there a list somewhere of suggested settings for the 810 that can be used as a staring point?

MaxDad, suggest you consider the Nikonians two day course on the D810. I took it from Steve Simon when I first got my D800 (and after reading two books on the camera) although I debated how an instructor could fill two days largely on one camera. To my surprise it was a great course and Steve totally filled two days. I learned a great deal about my D800 and as much about photography.

I fully agree about the Nikonian Academy courses. Having taken several with different instructors the level of learning you will achieve is unbelievable. In the meantime checkout http://www.dojoklo.com/Full_Stop/Nikon_D810_Experience.htm offering a downloadable reasonably priced guide to the D810. Unlike the Nikon manuals, it is actually readable, well-illustrated, and has a detailed guide to menu settings.
Mastering the Nikon D810 by Nikonians author Darrell Young (DigitalDarrell) is sure to be excellent, but not yet available. It sounds like you could use some help now.
