I received an e-mail when it arrived, but not when it left. I was able to check the departure time by logging into their system and seeing when it had a UPS tracking number and was shipped. As for four days being too long for a 20 minute fix, it depends on how many are queued up, right? They may have received a surge of them after I sent mine off. I don't consider either two days or four days bad, but they may also be giving a conservative service time that's likely to be beaten.
I just checked the Nikon link for the LA repair site and guess what, its on its way back to me. They got it on Thursday AM and mailed it out late on Friday. Nikon has done me right, excellent. I have to make an amend for being negative toward them.
