Live View and Battery Life
I have started to use Live View for T&S fine focus and I am surprised by how fast the battery is discharging. I expected a faster discharge but I am surprised by how fast. How much more time can I resonably expect:
- using a battery pack?
- using the EN-EL15 with the EN-EL18?

Live View, AF hunting, and VR all significantly contribute to battery consumption. If you are using Live View for extended periods of time, battery life will drop significantly. The exact amount will vary widely among photographers since it depends on how long you have Live View active between images. More batteries and larger capacity batteries will help - potentially getting 2-3 times the battery life, but it is a very personal issue.

I can shoot video & live view for about 90 minutes with only a 1 sec quick stop/record every 29 minutes.
I receintly shot a film for a Film Festival... several short scenes all day long with live view on most of the time on 1 battery per day.
Hope this helps.
