Hi.. When I take a shot in exposure Manual Mode then turn either dial to change aperture and/or shutter speed nothing happens. I have to turn the camera off and on as well as halfway press the shutter release in order to re-dial in a new setting. Can't imaging what I am doing wrong ... it is not on Auto-ISO.
The Command Dials can only be used to alter the aperture or shutter speed whilst the camera display is active. Half-pressing the shutter release achieves this. It should not be necessary to turn the camera off and on again.
This happens to me all the time. Tapping the shutter release to bring the exposure system out of sleep mode does the trick. Every now and then I think about increasing the timeout value in the Custom Settings.

I changed my Auto meter-off delay to 30s (CSM C2) as the default setting was too short for my liking. 30s seems to give me ample time to adjust aperture and speed and ISO and I haven't noticed any impact on battery life (I am sure there is an impact but not significant for me).
I've set my AF-ON button on the camera back to handle focus, so my shutter release only trips the shutter. When I'm adjusting shutter speed or aperture I simply press the AF-ON button to activate the camera and I don't need to worry about the camera witching off.
