It works as advertised. This is the second D800 series I have owned and it has no problems and works as does the D800, except it is a little sharper without the AA filter effect.

Thanks for sharing this. Truly an amazing camera. I think in hindsight, I would opt for the D800E. I preordered the D800, not so much because of cost, but over the yet-to-be-proven possible problems with Moire. Now that it has been out there for over a year, I think Moire has been much less of a problem than feared.

Interesting! I would have thought that the "e" might have created some moire from the weave in those fake leaves! I think the understanding I had about the filtering that 800 had was totally off base!
Gotta love the 800 series though!
