Previous shoots don't format away on Lexar 64gb Pro
Seems like it is always something, as Rosanne Roseannadanna used to say to use seasoned citizens.
When I go out on a new shoot, one of the first things that I do is format the card in the camera, in hopes of erasing the previous shoot.
Lately, my D800 with Lexar 64gb Pro SD and CF cards are not formatting away the previous shoot. I can see that previous shoot on the viewfinder but not when I go to download to my PC.
Anyone else experience this? Should I format in my PC and not in my D800?
As always, please have a Great Day!

Are you sure you don't have the other card slot occupied, maybe have been using it with backup mode? The default behavior if you erase one card is to show you what's on the other, you don't have to select it manually or anything.

Generally speaking you should format in the camera. I would say if that's not working try a new card, and if the new card works replace the other, don't trust it. If neither card will format, get the camera repaired.
I wouldn't trust things if you can't format a card in the camera.
