For some reason a partially used CF card has suddenly decided it wants to be formatted, even though, seconds earlier it was recording images. This is is a Lexar Professional 32 GB UDMA 400x card. One moment all is well, then I get the FOR error message. On camera or on the computer I find the card is not formatted.

Is there any way to retrieve the images? And yes, I know I should have had a backup card in camera but, no, I did not have it there.

Priority is to see if I can get the images back and then worry about the card. I am reluctant to reformat right now as I really need the images (documenting evidence for a case).

Thanks for any suggestions.
