In the past year - year 1/2 I have moved from a D50, D5100 and now have a D800 and a D7000 as a backup. I think I have settled on the D800 as being my main camera now, it does everything I need.

However, this past few weekends at a few car shows I found trying to remember the features of both cameras, swapping between them was frustrating. I have a friend who wants to move from an older Canon to the Nikon realm, so will make him a good deal on the D7000.

So they question is, should I buy a second D800 as my second camera as well as my backup? I really do not need anything more then the D800 offers (well, with what I know at the moment:).

It was suggested I get a D600, but I don't think I want another DX format unless there is value added. As well as I am not sure how different the D600 is compared to the D800.

Any suggestions on a backup, or is another D800 the best choice?
