As I have started playing with my D800 a little more, I have come across something I don't understand or can't quite grasp and am looking for some information.

I know the D800 does HDR capture (jpeg only, you pick the stops from base), bracketing you choose the number of shots all 1-stop apart and multiple exposures (I know this is taking two or more pictures and the camera "layers" them over each other, which sounds a lot like HDR).

That said, are my descriptions accurate? Is there a time when it would better to use over the other?

Seems to me that multi exposure would be the best of the three as you get in-camera processing of any number of exposures, but I could be thinking about this all wrong.
