I've been shooting my D7000 for two years, but ever since the D800 came out, I've been tempted by FX. If the D600 had the same autofocus and bracketing as the new D7100 I would have purchased on awhile ago, unless the dirty sensor issue kept me on the sidelines. I must admit the focus issues on the D800 were also a deterrent. So I have no real need for a D800, other than NAS. However, I am interested in any ideas as to why the price difference is now $500. Is the 800e selling better? Is Nikon just trying to rebalance inventory? It would seem that it's a mature product and the Yen is still weak, so it doesn't really make sense to me.
