Problem choosing AF-Area Mode in my D800
In following the user manual to select the AF-Area Mode, I cant have the choice between 9, 21 or 51 focal points. When pressing the central button of the AF/M button and turn the front knob, I only get the choice between ÄUTO" or "S"and I have by default the 51 points selected and cant change that to 21 points.
I alse checked in the Menu setting and no chance to find a way to choose 21 points.
Can someone tell me what could be the problem ?

That is because you need to first use the rear knob to set the camera to AF-C. In continuous focus mode, you can then use the front know to choose 9,21,51, or 3D. In AF-S you only have the choice of AUTO or "S".
I hope this helps. The whole focusing thing was so confusing to me at
first that I finally had to take a pen and paper and diagram it all out.
