I tried some movies of my daughter, the first time ever using a DSLR in movie mode.

The exposure proved challenging for me.

She had a spotlight on her, mwith a whitish shirt, and the #### was getting blown out in the live view. I tried adjusting but could not figure it out. In photo mode I have not been stuck with a situation like that, mbut I found it challenging in movie mode.

I also noticed the camera somehow taking over aperture and or ISO settings.

Any suggestions on how to set the exposure In movie mode.? Am I correct in perceiving the camera was adjusting the settings?

Thanks for your help.
