Having dropped my D700 last week and having sent it for repair to Nikon UK, not sure if it is repairable, I decided to get either a D600 or D800. Although the D600 was fitting my requirements, I decided in the end to go for the D800 because of the dust|oil issue on the D600. Got the camera yesterday and took it out today. I wanted first to test how useful these 36 megapixels can be if I need to crop. This is an example where I used on purpose a rather short focal and cropped heavily in CS6, not that I plan to do this in the future, but I was amazed by the results. This is shot handheld, and I post the original shot and a crop from the same picture.
