Is the D800 body about the same size as the D700?
Not sure how to word this question. I'm a happy D700 owner. I was at BestBuy today and tried out the D7000 and D600 today and found both to be to small and uncomfortable in my small hands. The D700 and my D300s fits my hand very well. Is the D800 about the same size as my D700? My only complaint about the D700 is the handgrip is just a little to big but managable.

D700: 5.8 x 4.8 x 3.0 in / 147 x 123 x 77 mm
D800: 5.7 x 4.8 x 3.2 in / 146 x 123 x 81.5 mm
The D800 feels pretty much like the D700, except that it may have slightly better ergonomics and weights 3.5 oz (100 grams) less.

Go here to see a visual comparison of the two cameras from several viewpoints. If you're comfortable with the D700, there's no reason to think you won't be comfortable with the D800. Nikon always tweaks the ergonomics slightly for each new camera model. If you can get to a camera store to physically try out the D800, bring your D700 with you for the best sort of direct comparison.
