I am experimenting with focusing techniques to discover the best focusing results.
D800e, 24-70 2.8
Settings: F/4, 1/200, 1600

My inital test was conducted in Single Focus Mode, handheld.
The only post processing was adjusting the WB, no sharpening.

I selected a consistent point and took five shots-

Center focal point no recompose
Center focal point, recompose left
Left focal point, no recompose
Center focal point, recompose right
Right focal point, no recompose

What my test uncovered was that the sharpest image was Center focal point and no recompose. This makes sense b/c of the sharpest point in the lens and no movement.
The next sharpest images were the outside focal points. Using this method produced sharper images than using the Center focal point and recomposing to the outside of the frame.
