anybody out there able to explain to me why Nikon doesn't allow assigning "REC" button on D800 for ISO control?
I love this option on my D4 and would really like to have it set up exactly the same way on my D800, but Nikon decided that as I already have a dedicated ISO button on top of the shooting method dial that must be sufficient.
For me it makes a dramatic difference though, because with the "REC" button assigned for ISO control I can change it on the fly while still looking through the viewfinder.
Well, I really hope they can add this little extra ergonomy to their product with one of the future firmware releases.

Yeah Nikon left out a few small things from the D800 that would have cost them nothing, just like they left out the zoom to 100% button option from the D600. Regarding ISO, I have set mine to easy ISO which means I can change it without pressing any button (unless I'm in manual mode).
