I am new to Nikon and the fantastic D800e after selling my Canon gear. Could someone please help me with a question about viewing images on the LCD after shooting. Canon display's the shot image and histogram after each shutter release for about 2 seconds. Does the D800e do this because my camera does not? If so what are the menu settings or page in the manual. Thanks Dennis
Dennis, you can also go to the Custom Setting Menu > c4 option = Monitor Off Delay. Within that option, there are various time delay settings you can choose from to have the monitor turn off after the image is taken and displayed (pg 292 in the manual).
Thanks everyone, what a relief! I spent two hours with Nikon tech support yesterday and they couldn't tell me how to do this. One post and the problem is solved, gota love this forum. I was ready to send the camera back I was so frustrated.
One thing to keep in mind with the LCD is you are viewing a small JPEG image based on the camera picture control settings. White balance and picture control choices can impact the histogram viewed in the LCD.
