D800 and Auto ISO strange behavior.......
Yesterday I was shooting a theater rehearsal in a pretty dim environment. To get decent shutter speed I set on Auto ISO and -2 exposure compensation. High ISO limit was set at H-07. Since most of the action was in the spotlights I figured that background could go dark as long as I get sharp actors.
What I got is peculiar ISO numbers: 7184, 8063, 9051, 10159 among numbers like 2800, 3200, 5000 etc.....
I was changing shutter speed manually mostly from 1/100 to 1/200 at F4
depending on the action.
Just curios how I got these weird numbers.

In the Custom Settings Menu, Item B1 is "ISO Sensitivity Step Value".
By default, it's set to 1/3.
Without actually doing the math, I suspect you'll find those values are 1/3 or 2/3 of the way between the more normal values.
