Taken while riding a Ferris Wheel! Hand held, 1/80th, f/2.8, ISO 400, 27mm with a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens, BTW - no sharpening applied outside of Nikon and LR4 defaults. Look for Kettle Corn Sign - 46 x 25 pixels.
I have to do this in a couple of steps so you can see where the final crop comes from as in the resized 1600 pixel image you cannot even see the Kettle Corn sign. You can find where the sign is supposed to be - look about one-third of the way from the top and one third from the right side there is a bright light, the Kettle Corn sign would be near the right hand side of the crowd and a little further away what appears to be bright sign.

Here is a 1245 x 831 pixel 100% crop where you can clearly see the Kettle Corn sign. Click to see the cropped image.
And here is the final crop at 304 x 105 pixels. The Kettle Corn sign is about 46 pixels x 25 pixels in the original photo!
Jim, Now if I told you that the D800 was set on Neutral Picture Control and that the images I posted came from the raw file pretty much untouched, except the defaults that Lightroom 4 Adobe Standard applied; no exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks, clarity, vibrance or saturation adjustments made at all! Would that weaken your resolve a little more?
Ah, I see that hand reaching for the billfold! LOL
