On May 25 I visited Antelope Canyon in Page Arizona for a photography tour. The D800 was tested to the limit there, as sand was flying horizontally at the camera and the lenses. Like I wrote in the past, SHOWER CAPS!!! saved the equipment. I highly recommend to keep a few of them in your camera bag and even in your pocket when you go out for a nature session.

The camera has to be set in a specific way in order to capture the images you see here. To the naked eye, Antelope Canyon is a set of beautifully carved rocks, deep in the red rock on Navajo Nation land.

If you go on a photography tour and intend to sell your images, you must request (and pay) a permit from Navajo Nation. It is $50 per day per canyon....

A tripod is a must, as you need long exposures in the darker corners of the canyon, and when the sand blows and the sun shines its light into the canyon, the "beams" of light can be seen.... You are welcome to visit the whole gallery at: http://www.devekmaga.com/Travel/Antelope-Canyon-Page-Arizona/23179622_mL7h3h.

The following day I went to Canyon X, but this is a story by itself..

Enjoy.
